How to choose the AI model for your banners

For people who generate campaigns and want to spend their credits wisely: what each model costs and when each one makes sense.

BannerMotion generates banners with AI and lets you choose the model for each request. Today you can use Haiku 5.5, Sonnet 5.5, Opus 5.5, and Fable 5.1: interchangeable AI models that you pick for each request. The difference lies in cost and capability; the best way to check it is with your own request.

How much each one costs

All the models use the same credits, but they don’t spend the same amount. Compared with Sonnet 5.5, Haiku 5.5 costs half; Opus 5.5, twice as much; and Fable 5.1, five times as much. Each concept is charged by the sizes and languages you chose: with Sonnet 5.5 it is 8 + 1.5 × sizes + 0.5 × (languages − 1) credits, and with another model it is multiplied. A language you translate after generating costs 1 credit with any model.

  • Concept with 1 size and 1 language: 5 credits with Haiku 5.5, 10 with Sonnet 5.5, 19 with Opus 5.5, and 48 with Fable 5.1; with 4 sizes and 1 language: 7 credits with Haiku 5.5, 14 with Sonnet 5.5, 28 with Opus 5.5, and 70 with Fable 5.1.
  • Correction with 1 to 4 sizes: 3 credits with Haiku 5.5, 5 with Sonnet 5.5, 10 with Opus 5.5, and 25 with Fable 5.1.
  • Adding 1 size to an existing concept of 6: 3 credits with Haiku 5.5, 5 with Sonnet 5.5, 10 with Opus 5.5, and 25 with Fable 5.1.

When to use Haiku 5.5

It is the most economical in the family. It is useful for producing many variations of an idea, running tests before you decide, and working at volume, because it lets you generate more concepts with the same credits.

When to use Sonnet 5.5

It is the default model and the everyday balance. It works well for most pieces and for corrections, which are the ones you repeat most often.

When to use Opus 5.5

It uses twice as many credits as Sonnet 5.5. It is designed for those who want more detail; check it with your own request. It makes sense for the main concept of a campaign or when the design includes more elaborate animations.

When to use Fable 5.1

It is the most capable and the most expensive in the family: it uses four times as many credits as Sonnet 5.5. Reserve it for the most ambitious pieces, when the result is worth the extra cost.

“Explore with the economical option, produce with the default, and save the most capable model for what really matters.”

Try them with the same request

The best way to decide is to generate the same request with two or more models and compare. The cost (per concept) is shown before you start, so you know how much you spend on each test.
