Choosing the AI model

Optional, advanced tutorial: four AI models with the same credit balance, and when each one makes sense.

[Short video: pending recording]
Before you start, you need
  • A BannerMotion account.
  • A credit balance (the more capable models use more for the same operation).
How long it takes: About 3 minutes to read.See this feature in the product
  1. Meet the four models

Haiku 5.5: the most economical, for many variants, tests, and volume. Sonnet 5.5: the balance point and the default, with very good quality for almost everything (time for one concept: [TO BE MEASURED]). Opus 5.5: more elaborate, with more detail in illustration and motion, but slower. Fable 5.1: the most capable and the most expensive of the family, for the most ambitious pieces. They are interchangeable AI models: if you do not want to choose, the default works for almost everything.

  2. See how much each one costs

They all use the same credits, but they do not spend the same per operation: compared with Sonnet 5.5, Haiku 5.5 uses half; Opus 5.5, twice as much, and Fable 5.1, five times as much (table below). Each time you choose, the screen shows the cost before running.

  3. Choose it when you create the banner

In "New banner", step "2 · AI model", choose the card you want. It applies to that order.

  4. Change it on each correction

In the studio chat, the selector next to "Send" lets you use a different model for each change. You will also see it when adding sizes.

  5. Set your defaults

In Settings, under "Default AI model", choose one for new concepts and another for chat corrections. That way you do not have to choose every time.

  6. A practical rule

Start with Sonnet 5.5 and use it for corrections, which are the ones that repeat the most. Use Haiku 5.5 when you need many variants or tests with few credits. Save Opus 5.5 for the concept when you want more visual detail or the change is big, and Fable 5.1 for the most ambitious pieces. If you are not sure, compare with "3 distinct concepts".
