Interstitial
A full-screen ad that appears between two moments of navigation, such as when switching screens.
In detail
An interstitial covers the entire screen for a few seconds, between two pieces of content: before opening an article, between levels of a game, or when moving from one screen to another. It usually offers a close button.
Because it interrupts, platforms and mobile browsers have strict rules about when it can be shown. Review the policy of the site or app where it will run.
Example
A full-screen vertical ad that appears when a game level ends.
