OKLab and OKLCH
Color spaces designed around human perception; mixing colors in them gives more natural intermediate tones.
In detail
Mixing two colors “component by component” in RGB can produce dull or muddy intermediates. OKLab and OKLCH describe color according to how we perceive it (lightness, chroma, and hue), so a gradient between two colors changes more evenly.
In BannerMotion you choose how colors are mixed: in OKLab the path is straight, and the midpoint of two opposite colors tends toward a gray; in OKLCH the hue travels the shortest arc and vividness is preserved. It is a style choice: try both and see which looks better with your brand.
